Spiritual Works of Mercy:
With the person seeking healing, the Healing Ministry joins in intercessory prayer to the Holy Trinity and asks the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede on their behalf. This Ministry's primary focus is for very severe, untreatable physical ailments. These prayers are said in the presence of the person seeking healing, preferably in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
2023 Interview with Lou Schornack
1. What do you want people to know about your ministry?
We gather in prayer to Jesus Christ and ask him to cure or heal those with physical diseases or afflictions. We pray in person in front of the Blessed Sacrament with those seeking healing. What we have asked of Jesus has occurred many times and sometimes it has not.
2. What are some of the results or success stories of your Ministry?
3. What makes a good candidate to be a member of the Healing Ministry Team?
The candidate attends Mass and receives Eucharist during the week, says the rosary frequently, and does Adoration weekly. The candidate is also compassionate for others and wants to pray asking the Lord for them to be cured.
4. What makes a good candidate for the healing program?
Those who have a persistent disease or affliction which has not readily responded to treatment by modern medicine. This includes diseases which can be fatal. The candidate should have complete faith that our Lord Jesus Christ can cure their ailment, even if it is very severe, but be receptive to the Lord's will, whatever the outcome. The candidate must be Trinitarian baptized.
5. Where do the healing activities take place?
Preferably in Our Lady of Fatima Church in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Prayers have been said at bedside for those in the hospital, but while they are holding a blessed crucifix and after they bless themselves with holy water.
6. How and when did you get started?
It started April 14, 2016. There was reluctance to start the ministry so the Lord showed up in person and said in a booming voice YOU ASK [for what is needed] - YOU GET IT.
7. What are some of your aspirations or goals for this ministry?
To pray in person for many people, asking the Lord for their cures.
